2021 FamilyWise Award Winners

2021 CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN

Beginning in 2012, FamilyWise annually honors individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond in making the world a better place for Minnesota children.

Antonia Wilcoxon Antonia Wilcoxon

Antonia has been a lead trainer and key partner in MCCC’s ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) awareness programs for more than 8 years. She is an expert facilitator, and has spent many years bridging connections between communities and human services systems to establish equitable policies and practices and to reduce racial disparities impacting children and families in Minnesota.

Scott Zinken

Scott is a longtime supporter of FamilyWise and served as Chair of the Board of Directors for 3 of his 6 years on the board. Scott played a pivotal role in the organization’s recent merger with MCCC, serving as Co-Chair of the board throughout the transition and ensuring that board integration was thoughtful and inclusive. He is a passionate advocate FamilyWise and for the wellbeing of all children.

2021 BURON- CAMPBELL INNOVATION AWARD

FamilyWise also honors organizations that help young people faced with adversity build resiliency so they can grow up to be healthy, successful adults.

Families and Communities Together (FACT),

The award was created to honor Lou Buron and Mary Campbell of Omni Broadcasting for their long and outstanding commitment to the prevention of child abuse in Minnesota. FACT is a new nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that the causes and conditions of diminished family safety, security, and health are effectively addressed or prevented to strengthen individual and community wellbeing. FACT provides community education about Adverse Childhood Experiences, supports Circle of Parents groups for families on the Iron Range, and is working with local partners to make Wraparound and Parent Mentor Services accessible for families in St. Louis County.

2021 GEORGE KRESSIN MEMORIAL FUND AWARD

Kenisha Jyles

Kenisha is a former Supervised Parenting intern with a passion for helping people through challenging circumstances towards happier, healthier lives. Her involvement with FamilyWise gave her a more empathetic perspective and taught her that everyone deserves a second chance. In her career she aims to focus on the strengths of every individual to help them achieve their goals.
